About the Artist
I am a Native Hawaiian Artist originally from the Island of Maui. From a young age, I loved creating art. That passion continued through high school and eventually to college, where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing from the University of Hawaii in 2000, and have been creating art ever since. I now live on the beautiful Hamakua Coast of the Big Island with my family and continue to create Hawaiian artwork.
My Medium
I enjoy using and exploring all types of medium. Although the majority of my work is created with oils, my more recent paintings utilize acrylics on canvas and paper as well as some digital media work.
My Inspiration
Being surrounded by the beauty of Hawaii and its unique culture has always been a driving force behind my paintings. As a Native Hawaiian artist, I use my art as a way to learn and connect with my culture, in an effort to honor my Hawaiian heritage and perpetuate our culture and traditions for future generations. My hope is that my images will inspire others to do the same.
